Welcome to Term 4.
The year has gone very fast, a good indicator of us having fun. With only ten weeks this term it will once again be a tight squeeze with all the exciting learning and events planned.
Hopefully the children have had a well rested and safe holiday. With everyone's batteries recharged we will be able to have a fun filled term 4 as well.
I would like to re-emphasise the importance of communication, and ensuring that this is done in an appropriate manner. If there is anything that needs to be discussed please send me an email or come and see me in person, as we have always had an open door policy at our school. This makes matters a lot easier to deal with.

I was so pleased to come fourth in our school cross country.
Because of this I got into the North West Zones. Cross Country Zone was a scary time for me. I
had massive butterflies in my tummy. The track was a lot longer and harder than
our school one. I was very proud and glad that I completed the race. Imogene
Cross Country Zones was very Grassy and cold. It was held at
Huapai Domain. The year 5 boys got a huge surprise when we saw how long the
track was and how steep the hills were. It was a great experience and we felt
very proud at being able to participate and get a feel for what it is like to
be in the cross country zones. Cohen

We are well into the middle of the term. Students in Room 17 continue to work hard and put in their best efforts.Te first week of the term started with a rip and a roar , with a rotation an looking into our inquiry unit. Room 17 did the digestive system, Room 16 did brain and nervous system, Room 18 covered exercise and heart, Room 19 worked on skeletal system.
Our Food for Thought is going extremely well. They looked at the effect of yeast when baking and the reason why bread rises. this was demonstrated with the yeast and balloon experiment.
We also made some popcorn to do a procedural writing for. The children thoroughly enjoyed these activities, especially as there was a bite to eat at the end.
Our trip to Pak n Save was a quite enjoyable. The nutritionist from Food for Thought ran the project with a couple of sessions in the class, talking to students about food values, labeling, content etc. We were presented with a $60 voucher at the end of the session which the children will use to work on as a Maths activity to calculate amount and prepare for a healthy lunch for the class.
Room 17 is beginning to think of a presentation for their assembly. This is in week 9 of this term- Friday 1st July.
